New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula is officially in versus the Vancouver Canucks after missing the past few games with a lower-body injury.
He is expected to play on a line with Jack Hughes and Tyler Toffoli. It will be the first time this season that the trio will play together.
Haula was asked what the three of them can do to compliment each other after Monday's practice.
"I think the big thing for us is keeping the puck out of our net," Haula said. "That's part of the reason I am there, to try to take a little bit of the defensive responsibility as well. We all know what they do offensively, so ease the load a little bit off of Jack. That's kind of what worked last year. Try to do the little things and try to work hard for them."
"He brings a ton of energy (whether) on our line or not," Toffoli said. "It was good to see him out there feeling better, and hopefully, we can have a good night."
Haula has 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 18 games, including four points in his last five games.
"Everybody knows the person I am," Haula continued. "I come in, try to bring the energy, the compete, try to do the right things, and try to work hard out there for the team."
