In a matchup against his former team, New Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino will be out of the lineup against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 26-year-old missed two games with an upper-body injury before returning to action against the Vegas Golden Knights.

With Marino out of the lineup, youngster Santeri Hatakka will come back into the lineup. He played in both games that Marino previously missed.

The American-born defenseman averages over 21 minutes a game and has scored four goals and 23 points. He played 24:24 in his return against the Vegas Golden Knights.

In the nine games Hatakka has played for the Devils this season, he’s averaged over 15 minutes of time on ice and recorded two assists.

The team will be playing against another team trying to push for the playoffs. Two points are crucial if the Devils still believe they can make the playoffs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
