Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that the club is "optimistic" that Jonas Siegenthaler will return to the lineup.

"He is feeling good. We are optimistic that he will be able to play tonight," Keefe said. "We are going to give him the day and every opportunity to feel as comfortable as possible.

"He has had the appropriate appointments," Keefe continued. "His leg, the bone is healed. That is not a concern at all. He is fully healthy that way. What he needed more time for was the conditioning side of it. We are not able to provide him that time given our circumstances here. We intend to play him today but in a reduced role, reduced minutes."

Per the team's morning skate, the Devils are expected to use the following lineup:

Ondrej Palat - Nico Hischier - Timo Meier

Erik Haula - Dawson Mercer - Jesper Bratt

Paul Cotter - Cody Glass - Stefan Noesen

Tomas Tatar - Justin Dowling - Nathan Bastian

Brett Pesce - Dougie Hamilton

Brian Dumoulin - Johnathan Kovacevic

Jonas Siegenthaler - Simon Nemec

Jacob Markstrom

Puck drop between the Devils and Hurricanes at 8:00 p.m. ET (MSGSN, TBS, Max, SN360, TVAS2). The doors to Prudential Center will open at 6:30 p.m. ET.
