Timo Meier has 11 points in 14 games.

The New Jersey Devils could be down a forward versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night.

Timo Meier, 27, fell awkwardly by the boards in the team's 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. He was slow to skate to the bench but did not go down the tunnel. According to Devils' team reporter Sam Kasan, Meier did speak with an athletic trainer.

He finished the game versus the Jets with one goal, four shots, and 19:22 of ice time.

During the team's morning skate at PPG Paints Arena, Meier did not take line rushes or appear on the ice until his teammates were wrapping up.

"He will be a game-time decision," head coach Lindy Ruff said. "He got a little banged up last game (in Winnipeg)."

Max Willman filled in for Meier on the team's top line with Michael McLeod and Jesper Bratt.

"Personally, for me, I'm just trying to stay ready just in case he can't go tonight," Willman said. "I feel like amongst our group, pretty much everyone can play up and down the lineup. For me, just stay ready, and wherever they put me, I'll be ready to go."

Fans will most likely need to wait until the puck drops to see if Meier will be able to play versus the Penguins.
