Another gameday, another milestone for a New Jersey Devils player.
Timo Meier will appear in his 500th career NHL game on Saturday night versus the Boston Bruins.
Meier was originally selected ninth overall by the San Jose Sharks during the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 16, 2016, versus the Montreal Canadiens. He scored his first career goal on his first shot.
Meier's first career goal was assisted by David Schlemko, who played 67 games for the Devils during the 2015-16 season. One of the Swiss winger's linemates? Current teammate Chris Tierney.

After playing 451 games in San Jose, Meier was traded to New Jersey in a multi-player deal on Feb. 26, 2023. He made his Devils debut versus the Arizona Coyotes on Mar. 5, 2023. Less than ten minutes into the first period, he celebrated his first goal as a member of the Devils.

This season has been filled with highs and lows for the power forward. Meier was injured in his team's loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Nov. 14 and did not return to the lineup until Dec. 1.
Once he returned to game action, it took ten games for him to find the back of the net. His sixth goal of the 2023-24 season was scored versus the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 21. While it is always a relief when a player stops a goal drought, Meier focuses on the bigger picture.
"Getting a goal means nothing if you lose the game because you play for (the logo) in the front of the jersey," he said after the team's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
As of late, both Meier and his team have performed better. The 27-year-old has four goals over his last four games, and the Devils have won their previous three outings.
Meier and the Devils will look to extend their winning streak to four games tonight when they play the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
