Last season, the Devils earned a 2-0-0 record against the Blackhawks. Timo Meier has collected 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) over his previous 17 games versus tonight's opponent. The only two teams he has earned more points against are the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings.

The Blackhawks are last in the Central Divison (4-6-0) and have won one of three games at home. They will be playing their second game of a back-to-back and are coming off a 5-2 victory versus the Florida Panthers. First-overall pick Connor Bedard has scored a goal in his last three games.
