The New Jersey Devils will wrap up their second set of back-to-backs when they host the Washington Capitals at Prudential Center on Wednesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
The Devils earned a 3-1-0 record versus the Capitals last season. Captain Nico Hischier has 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in 19 games versus Washington. It is the second-most points he has earned against any league opponent. Luke Hughes scored his first career NHL goal versus Washington last season in overtime.

The Devils will look to improve their winning streak to three games. New Jersey and Washington are each playing the second half of a back-to-back. The Devils earned a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens, while the Capitals suffered a 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jonas Siegenthaler will face his former team for the eighth time. New Jersey acquired the blueliner in a trade on April 11, 2021, in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick that turned into Ryder Korczak. The defenseman has two assists versus the Capitals.

The last time that the team won 38 or more face-offs in a game was on March 25, 2023, versus the Ottawa Senators (39/68, 57.4%). Tuesday's contest marked the first time this season that the team finished a game above 50% on face-offs.
- Alex Ovechkin scored his 300th power-play goal of his career on Tuesday night. According to Capitals PR, he is the first player in NHL history to score 300 career power-play goals.
- Speaking of Ovechkin, he finished last night's game with 14 shots on goal.
- Timo Meier is still waiting on his first goal of the season, but he earned points in his last two games (three assists).
