Devils vs. Hurricanes - Prudential Center
The Devils have a 0-1-1 record against the Hurricanes this season. In their previous meeting, the Devils were handed a 1-0 overtime loss at PNC Arena. Former Devils goaltender Vitek Vanecek made 31 saves on 32 shots.
The Hurricanes are second in the Metropolitan Division (37-19-6). Ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline, Carolina brought in forwards Jake Guentzel from the Pittsburgh Penguins and Evgeny Kuznetsov from the Washington Capitals. Per Hurricanes team reporter Walt Ruff, the plan is for the latter to play against New Jersey.
"It's an exciting few days," Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. "Right now we felt that if we could add more goal-scoring to our hockey club, that made the most sense. We were fortunate to land both players."
