New Jersey has an all-time record of 41-44-8-4 against Colorado.

The New Jersey Devils will host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night at Prudential Center. It is the team's first game since the NHL All-Star break. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. The team held a morning skate at 10:30 A.M.

Tomas Nosek is set to return to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 18, 2023. He is expected to play on the team's fourth line alongside Chris Tierney and Alexander Holtz.

"I'm excited. I can't wait for puck drop," Nosek said. "To be able to be back on the ice and play again is great."

Ex-Devils Miles Wood and Zach Parise will return to Prudential Center for the first time this season. Over the summer, Wood signed a six-year, $15 million contract with Colorado as a free agent. On Jan. 26, Parise signed a one-year contract for $825,000, hoping to capture his first Stanley Cup. He made his Avalanche debut Monday night.

Devils vs. Avalanche - Prudential Center

The Devils have earned a 0-1-0 record against the Avalanche this season. In their last meeting, Colorado beat New Jersey 6-3. Tyler Toffoli, Timo Meier, and Dougie Hamilton scored for New Jersey. Wood scored a shorthanded goal in the second period to give his team a 3-2 lead. It was his first goal against his former team.

The Avalanche are first in the Central Division (32-14-4). They are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the New York Rangers Monday night. Nathan MacKinnon scored his team's lone goal, with Cale Makar and Josh Manson collecting the assists. The 2013 first-overall pick has 13 points in his last five games and is on a 14-game point streak.

  • New Jersey's injury list includes Dougie Hamilton (out indefinitely), Jonas Siegenthaler (broken foot), Jack Hughes (upper body), and Brendan Smith (sprained knee).
  • Colorado's injury list includes Pavel Francouz (lower body) and Gabriel Landeskog (knee).
  • The Avalanche are 11-3-1 in their last 15 games and 13-3-2 in their previous 18 games.
  • Colorado is wrapping up their fifth back-to-back set of the season. They have a 3-1-0 record in the second game.
  • Per the media notes, the Devils' 16 comeback wins this season rank second in the NHL, per Jan. 26.
  • Jack Hughes joined his teammates for their morning skate and wore a regular jersey. He did not take line rushes and eventually moved to the practice rink to skate with the team's remaining injured players.
  • Meier has scored a goal in his last two games against Colorado, while Jesper Bratt has earned at least a point in his previous five games.
