The New Jersey Devils earned 44 points in road games this season.

In a must-win game on Saturday evening, the Philadelphia Flyers were strong defensively against the New Jersey Devils, blocking 22 shots in an eventual 1-0 victory in front of their fans at Wells Fargo Center.

"I think both teams ended up with 20 shots. It was a tight-checking game," interim head coach Travis Green said. "They defended well, and we defended well, as well. It came down to a shorthanded goal."

Flyers' forward Travis Konecny scored the game's lone goal while his team was shorthanded in the second period. His wrist shot beat goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen for his team-leading 33rd goal of the season.

It was Game 81 and signaled the Devils' last road game of the 2023-24 campaign. Away from Prudential Center, New Jersey earned a 21-18-2 record for 44 points.

For the first time since 2008-09 to 2009-10, the Devils earned more than 20 road wins in consecutive seasons.

The team will conclude the 2023-24 regular season on Monday, April 15, at Prudential Center, when they host the New York Islanders. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
