New Jersey has an all-time record of 41-56-11-4 against Los Angeles.

The New Jersey Devils will face the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center in California. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 P.M. The Devils did not hold a morning skate. Head coach Lindy Ruff met with the attending media at 10:30 A.M. PT.

Newly acquired Kurtis MacDermid will make his Devils debut this afternoon. The 29-year-old began his career with the Kings.

"He is here, and he is going to play," head coach Lindy Ruff said.

Devils @ Kings - Staples Center

The Devils have a 0-1-0 record against the Kings this season. Los Angeles handed New Jersey a 2-1 regulation loss in their previous meeting. Anze Kopitar and Quinton Byfield scored for the Kings, while Tyler Toffoli scored on the power play for the Devils. Goaltender Nico Daws made 27 saves on 29 shots.

The Kings are fourth in the Pacific Division (30-19-10). They are coming off a 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. Kevin Fiala earned three points, while Trevor Moore, Kopitar, and Byfield collected two. Netminder Cam Talbot made 23 saves on 24 shots.

  • New Jersey's injury list includes Dougie Hamilton (out indefinitely), Nathan Bastian (lower body), and Vitek Vanecek (lower body).
  • Los Angeles' injury list includes Adrian Kempe (upper body), Mikey Anderson (upper body), Viktor Arvidsson (lower body), Carl Grundstrom (lower body)
  • Entering this afternoon's game, the following Devils players are on point streaks: Nico Hischier (two games), Jesper Bratt (two games), Timo Meier (two games), and Jack Hughes (three games).
  • The Devils scored two power-play goals on Friday night against the Anaheim Ducks. It marked the first time New Jersey scored two power-play goals in a single game since Jan. 17.
  • Bratt has tallied seven points in his last six games against tonight's opponent dating back to Feb. 2020.
  • Jack Hughes had earned at least a point in every game he had played against Los Angeles except for one(six assists in six games). The 22-year-old has yet to score a goal against the Kings.
  • Jonas Siegnethaler is set to skate in his 300th career NHL game against the Kings.
