New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes finished Monday's game against the New York Rangers with two goals and one assist.

There are very few certainties in life, but one thing New Jersey Devils fans can count on is Jack Hughes scoring against the New York Rangers.
Entering Monday's matinee, the 23-year-old had amassed 23 points (13 goals, 10 assists) against his team's biggest rival in 21 games. Dating back to Mar. 22, 2022, Hughes earned at least a point over his next 10 games against the Rangers.
It took Hughes 4:29 to extend that point streak to 11 games.
Dougie Hamilton got possession of the puck and passed it up to Jesper Bratt at the center ice logo. Bratt slid the puck to Hughes, who beat opposing goaltender Jonathan Quick with a wrist shot, giving his team an early 1-0 lead.

In the middle frame, Hughes scored his second goal of the game while his team was on the power play. Luke Hughes found his older brother, who beat Quick for a 3-0 Devils lead.

Hughes added a primary assist in the third period for back-to-back three-point performances against the Rangers to start the 2024-25 season.
"I have had a couple of good games against these guys," Hughes said with a smile after the game. "It is a great rivalry, and I love playing in it. Whether it is here or at MSG, I think you can get up a little more for these games.
"Heading into Christmas break, we wanted to make a statement and have a good game," he continued.
Timo Meier, Stefan Noesen, and Dawson Mercer were the other goal-scorers in New Jersey's 5-0 victory over New York.
