New Jersey Devils goaltender Jake Allen earned his 198th career NHL win against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night at Rogers Place.

In his fifth start of the season, New Jersey Devils goaltender Jake Allen earned his second shutout. The 34-year-old made 31 saves in his team's 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
It marked his 198th career win as he inches closer to the milestone of 200 NHL victories.
He made key saves in the early minutes of the game, giving his team a chance to settle in.
"I thought we had a little bit of a slow start, but we reacted quickly," Timo Meier said. "We got an important goal early and then some key saves by (Allen). He played unbelievable."
Allen was under siege in the middle frame as the Oilers outshot the Devils 10-3. The veteran goaltender remained calm and composed in the crease, securing his team's first period 1-0 lead.
"I was trying to take a page out of (Markstrom's) book," Allen said to MSGN. "I thought his last two games (were great). He stayed super deep and patient in the net. I tried it tonight, and it worked for me, so keep it going."
The Devils provided their netminder with goal support as Stefan Noesen scored the game's opening goal five minutes into the first period. Jesper Bratt extended New Jersey's lead on the power play in the second period. Meier scored an insurance goal in the final frame to make it 3-0.
"He has been working hard," Noesen said of Allen. "It is good to see him smile. He is a funny guy, and we really wanted to pull for him in the end. We were blocking shots when we needed to, and if we did bend, we didn't break all the way, and a big reason was because of Jake."
Allen entered the game with a record of 10-9-2 against the Oilers with a .905 save percentage.
"We win on the back of some incredible goaltending," Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe said. "The credit goes to him."
