Bastian was a game-time decision for New Jersey.
Nathan Bastian will officially be in the New Jersey Devils lineup on Saturday night when the Devils host the Detroit Red Wings.
The 26-year-old was a game-time decision after missing the team's on-ice practice session on Friday. Head coach Lindy Ruff confirmed it was a maintenance day for the winger. He was at Prudential Center.
Bastian was one of a handful of players on the ice for the Devil's optional morning skate this morning at 10:30 A.M. When asked about his status, Ruff said, "(We) don't know yet. We will find out after he is treated."
He joined his team on the ice for warmups and skated on a line with Erik Haula and Alexander Holtz, confirming he would be in the lineup instead of Chris Tierney.
Bastian has appeared in 29 games this season, collecting five points (one goal, four assists). Against the Anaheim Ducks, the 6-foot-4 forward earned his 50th career NHL point.
