Watch & Listen: Tonight's game will be streamed on the team's official website and can be heard on the Devils Hockey Network. Jason Shaya will provide play-by-play alongside color analyst Sam Kasan.
Tonight marks the second preseason meeting between the two teams. The Devils earned a 6-0 victory at Prudential Center on Monday, Sept. 25, with goals from Palat, Haula, Thompson, Holtz, Meier, and McLeod.
Per the media notes, since Feb. 25, 2023, the Devils have outscored Philadelphia 13-0 in two games played (regular/preseason).
One of the more interesting storylines to watch tonight is the Palat-Haula-Mercer line.
On Monday, Haula and Palat played on a line together versus the Flyers, with Jesper Bratt and the two veterans combined for three points (two goals, one assist).
So what can Mercer bring to the line? Reporters asked Haula after yesterday's practice.
"(Mercer) is a little bit of a younger guy, me and (Palat) we just try to do the right things, we try to battle and work hard," said Haula. "Somebody's got to put the puck in the net, so it's a good thing we got (Mercer) there. I'm excited to play together. We haven't played together yet. We'll play with each other tomorrow and see how it works out."
The Bay Roberts native shared his excitement about playing with the two veterans.
"It's been going great," said Mercer when he met with media on Friday. "Obviously, I played a lot with (Haula) last year, and it went really good, you know, with [penalty killing] and everything. (Palat) works so hard, and he came back so strong in his performance in the playoffs, so I'm really excited. We've had a lot of chemistry. ...Tomorrow night is going to be a good opportunity."
