KITCHENER, ONTARIO -- New Jersey Devils forward Nathan Bastian was a special guest at the second annual Scotland’s Yard Road Hockey Classic in support of cancer care at the Grand River Children’s (GRH) Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, on August 12.

According to their Instagram page, Scotland's Yard is inspired by Scottie, a 3-year-old cancer survivor. Scotland’s Yard supports cancer care at GRH with the goal of building a new pediatric cancer center.
The event included a classic street hockey tournament for all ages playing alongside NHL and professional hockey players that included Bastian, Tanner Pearson, Steven Lorentz, and Mike Hoffman.

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Ben Chiarot is an honourary co-chair, and he, along with his wife Jacquline, were the hosts of the event. Per their website, the event raised over $315K last year.
On July 1, Bastian signed a two-year contract worth $2,700,000 with an annual average value of $1,350,000 to remain in New Jersey. Last season, the 6-foot-4 forward tallied 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 43 games.
