NEWARK, N.J. -- The reunions keep coming for the New Jersey Devils. On July 2, the team announced it signed Tomas Tatar to a one-year contract worth $1,800,000.
The signing marks his second stint with the organization. In his first stint with the Devils, he earned 78 points (35 goals, 43 assists) over 158 games and, per the press release, he holds the third-highest plus/minus rating in a single New Jersey season with a plus-41 in 2022-23.
Last season, Tatar split his time between the Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken.
With the Avalanche, he appeared in 27 games, scored one goal, and finished his tenure with nine points. On Dec. 15, 2023, he was traded to Seattle by Colorado for a 5th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. In Seattle, he tallied 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 43 games.
The veteran has appeared in 853 career NHL games for the Devils, Avalanche, Kraken, Canadiens, Golden Knights, and Red Wings. He has 479 career points (220 goals and 259 assists).
