New Jersey Devils forward Arseny Gritsyuk left the 6-4 win over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday with an apparent injury.
Following the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on the rookie via MSG Networks.
"Doesn't look to be anything too serious at this point. However, it's going to have to get assessed. Probably a picture to find out exactly what's going on. We'll determine a timeline from there."
The 25-year-old has played in 66 games this season after joining the NHL from the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). His adjustment to North American hockey has been strong; the rookie has 13 goals and 15 assists this season.
The team has 12 games left in the season and currently sits in seventh place in the Metropolitan Division with 74 points.
The team has a 36-33-2 record heading into the final stretch.
Additionally, Keefe noted to NHL.com that Gritsyuk will undergo imaging on Wednesday to assess the potential severity of the injury.
The Devils will return to the ice on Thursday as they take on the Nashville Predators.
