The New Jersey Devils' injury report expanded on Monday afternoon.

The organization announced that defenseman Luke Hughes recently underwent successful shoulder surgery, which was performed by Dr. Peter Millett at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

It marked the second time Hughes has sustained a shoulder injury. He dealt with a left shoulder injury in September during off-season training that did not require surgery but forced him to miss the start of the 2024-25 season.

Additionally, winger Jesper Bratt has decided to undergo shoulder surgery, and he will not participate in the IIHF World Championships for Sweden.

Like Jack Hughes, who underwent successful surgery in March, Luke and Bratt will be available for the 2025 New Jersey Devils Training Camp.

During exit interviews, defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic confirmed he has a knee injury and may need surgery. The 27-year-old doesn’t expect to be ready for the start of next season.

Veteran defenseman Brenden Dillon revealed that in Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes, he suffered a neck injury.

"It was obviously a scary incident on the ice," Dillon told reporters. "I have never had any concussion, neck, back injury, really anything bad, ever in my career. I had my helmet and skates on, ready to go out for the third, but after talking with people, it was the right decision for me not to go back out. I am appreciative to Sheldon Keefe and the medical staff for pointing me in the right direction."

Dillon believes he will be able to have a normal offseason of training and be ready for training camp in September.
