The New Jersey Devils, along with the entire NHL, have released their schedule for the 2026-27 season. This will be an expansion for the league in terms of games played, going from 82 to 84.

On Wednesday, the league announced all home openers, which is October 1st for the Devils against the Philadelphia Flyers. Two days later, they will visit the New York Islanders as part of their home opener.

This is the first 84 game schedule in 23 years. It is New Jersey's next chance to bounce back and become the team that they have the talent to be. 

The Devils will face the New York Rangers much earlier than they did last year, with their first game being on October 15th. 

The Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes will face the Devils four times, and they will all come in 39 days. As potential playoff rivals, that should set the tone well. 

Home games are rather spread out for the Devils, as they only have one home-stand of four games or more. That tends to happen with the Eastern Conference teams, who can travel for their games much more easily. 

On the road, the Devils will take one long seven-game road trip that begins at the end of January and will go well into February. 

A four-game slate will end the season for the Devils, including their final game of the season on April 10th against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
