Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald made the announcement on July 19.

NEWARK, N.J. -- On July 19, the New Jersey Devils announced they signed 30-year-old Tomas Nosek to a one-year, one-way contract worth $1 million.
Having gone undrafted, he has played for the Detroit Red Wings, Vegas Golden Knights, and Boston Bruins. Nosek has previously been teammates with Erik Haula, Curtis Lazar, Brendan Smith, and Colin Miller.
Last season, the 6-foot-3 forward appeared in 66 games for the Bruins, tallying 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists). His 18 points tied his career-high from the 2020-21 campaign when he was a member of the Golden Knights. In 398 NHL games, he has 101 points (42 goals, 59 assists).
As I previously wrote, New Jersey lost two forwards with the versatility to play center. Yegor Sharangovich and Jesper Boqvist are listed on the NHL website as centers, even though head coach Lindy Ruff mainly utilized them as wingers. Nosek provides depth at the center position, while his versatility gives Ruff the luxury of moving him throughout the lineup.
The Pardubice, Czech Republic native provides further insurance to GM Fitzgerald, who now has seven players who can play center on his roster Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes, Curtis Lazar, Michael McLeod, Dawson Mercer, Chris Tierney, and Nosek.
