Here's a recap of the latest Devils' news and notes.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The first month of the 2023-24 season is in the books. The New Jersey Devils are currently third in the Metropolitan Division behind the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes with a record of 5-2-1. Below is a recap of some of the biggest headlines from the past few days.
- The Devils have the top power-play percentage in the league, converting at 42.4 percent. To put things into perspective, last season, the team's power-play percentage was 19.2 for October.
"I think all of us can make plays, and I think we can kind of attack from anywhere," Toffoli said about the power play's success. "I think we're just doing a really good job of being crisp with our passes and making quick plays, and that beats (the opponents) down and creates opportunities."
- Goaltender Nico Daws joined his Comets teammates for practice on Oct. 30. The 22-year-old had offseason hip labrum surgery, which has kept him off the ice. He is expected to return around Christmas.
- Per Ben Birnell of the Daily Sentinel's reporting, "turtleneck" cut-resistant undershirts will be provided to Utica Comets players.
- The Devils hosted their annual Halloween Party on Oct. 30, and while the photos are limited, the organization did provide a gem of Erik Haula with a wig and matching chest hair.
