
New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier earned four points for Team Switzerland on Sunday night.

New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier led Team Switzerland to a 6-5 victory over Team Austria on Sunday night at the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
The 25-year-old scored three goals and completed his hat trick while Switzerland was on the power play in the final minute of regulation. All three of Hischier's goals were scored while Switzerland was on the man advantage.
He additionally earned one assist and finished the game with four points.
"It was a hard battle out there. We did not play the way we wanted, but we battled hard and somehow found a way," Hischier said in an interview after the game.
New Jersey's captain concluded the 2023-24 season with 67 points (27 goals, 40 assists) in 71 games. It marked the third consecutive season Hischier earned 60 or more points.
