Arseny Gritsyuk will not be available this week for the New Jersey Devils.
The 25-year-old rookie suffered an injury in Tuesday night's 6-4 victory over the Dallas Stars.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on Gritsyuk, who did not skate on Thursday.
“He’s not going to be available this week,” Keefe said to NJD.tv.
Keefe continued, sharing the impact Gritsyuk's absence from the lineup will have on the team.
“He brings so much… when he gets a puck, he’s going to skate it through the neutral zone and make a play,” Keefe said.
Cody Glass agreed with Keefe.
“It’s tough… especially losing a goal scorer in the bottom six,” Glass said. “But it’s an opportunity for someone else to step up.”
The team will face the Nashville Predators tonight without Gritsyuk, looking to improve their 36-33-2 record heading into the final stretch of the season.
