The New Jersey Devils’ Jack Hughes became the fourth player in franchise history with four consecutive 40-assist seasons on Sunday in the team's 5-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Hughes played in his 52nd game on Sunday. This season, the 24-year-old has earned 63 points (22 goals, 41 assists).
On Sunday evening, Hughes picked up four additional points, two goals, and two assists.
Hughes finished the game with eight shots on net and reached yet another milestone.
He joined Kirk Muller, Jesper Bratt, and Scott Gomez in recording four consecutive 40-assist seasons.
Hughes has appeared in 420 games for the Devils since being drafted first overall in the 2019 NHL Draft.
He has a career total of 251 assists and 163 goals.
Hughes has reached several accomplishments in his first seven years in the league. However, injuries have prevented him from playing a full season each year, limiting his total appearances despite his status as a franchise player.
