On an island in the sun, We'll be playin' and havin' fun.
New Jersey Devils forward Curtis Lazar is embracing Weezer's song "Island in the Sun."
During a family trip to the Hawaiian Islands, Lazar shared stories on his Instagram profile of him cage-diving off North Shore, Oahu.
In a July phone interview with The Hockey News, the 29-year-old shared that he was heading to Hawaii and clearly added some adventure to his rest and relaxation.

Cage diving is widely considered to be a very safe excursion. Participants in Oahu can observe Galapagos sharks and sandbar sharks, among others, from inside a protective cage made of metal or aluminum, depending on which company the excursion is booked through.
A quick Google search will confirm it is extremely rare for a human to sustain serious injuries as a result of cage diving. The few incidents on record involve Great White Sharks.
Great Whites are found in water with temperatures between 54 and 75 °F (12 and 24 °C), making them more likely to be around Hawaii during the colder months of the year. Still, they are considered rare in the waters surrounding Hawaii.
Per Hawaii.gov, "Tiger sharks are considered the most dangerous sharks in Hawaiian waters."
Lazar is coming off the best season of his career, where he collected a career-high 25 points in 71 games. He missed the final few games of the season with a shoulder injury.
During his end-of-season media availability, he shared that he would have been ready to play in mid-April, but the Devils' 2023-24 season had concluded.
He will report to training camp on Sept. 18 with the rest of the Devils veterans to prepare for the 2024-25 campaign.
