    NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils held a practice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House in Newark on Wednesday afternoon before traveling to Dallas, Texas.

    Minutes before practice was set to begin, the organization announced that it had recalled defenseman Santeri Hatakka from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL). He played seven games with New Jersey this season, earning two assists and a +7 rating.

    "He defended well, seems confident, which you want to see in young players as it's not an easy league to break into," interim head coach Travis Green said of Hatakka. "He seems like he's full of confidence and belief in himself, which is important. Happy to see him back."

    On Wednesday evening, the Devils announced two more recalls from their AHL affiliate. Defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon and forward Max Willman will join the Devils in Dallas for their three-game road trip.

    The 31-year-old defenseman has 19 points (four goals and 15 assists) in 54 games in Utica.

    Willman played in both the AHL and NHL this season. He appeared in 13 games for New Jersey and scored one goal and one assist. His most recent game with the Devils was on Feb. 6.
