NEWARK, N.J. -- On Monday evening, TSN's Darren Dreger reported that the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Flyers, and Calgary Flames have been informed they will receive cap relief for the players on Leave charged in the 2018 World Junior Criminal proceedings.

It came hours after the London Police Service (LPS) held a press conference confirming the sexual assault charges against Devils' Michael Mcleod and Cal Foote, Flyers' Carter Hart, Flames' Dillon Dube, and former NHLer Alex Formenton.

As TSN reported, "Lawyers for the players had previously confirmed their clients had been charged with sexual assault in connection with the investigation. They have also denied any wrongdoing on behalf of their clients and said they will plead not guilty. McLeod is facing an additional charge of sexual assault for "being a party to the offense."

During the press conference, LPS referred to McLeod's additional charge as "aiding someone else in committing the offense."

The Devils will now have $2.2 million in relief to their salary cap, not including Dougie Hamilton's cap hit, which is $9 million.

As Ryan Novozinsky of N.J. Advanced Media reported both McLeod's and Foote's locker room stalls had been cleared out.

The Devils released no further comments outside their original statement on Jan. 24.
