The New Jersey Devils have recalled defenseman Nick DeSimone from the Utica Comets.

On Friday evening, the New Jersey Devils announced that 29-year-old Nick DeSimone has been recalled from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL).
With the Comets, DeSimone has played nine games, collecting two assists.
In January, the Devils claimed him off waivers from the Calgary Flames. He signed a one-year contract with the Devils this summer after appearing in 11 games for New Jersey and earning two points (one goal, one assist).
On Thursday evening, the Devils assigned 20-year-old Simon Nemec, who was serving as the extra defenseman, to the Comets. With the Devils playing four of their next five games on the road, the club needed another blueliner in addition to their top six.
