After an intense Tuesday afternoon practice, the New Jersey Devils assigned 25-year-old Mike Hardman to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.
The winger made his Devils debut on Monday, Dec. 2, against the New York Rangers after signing a two-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on July 1, 2024.
Skating on a line with Comets' teammates Justin Dowling and Nathan Légaré, the trio received praise from head coach Sheldon Keefe.
"I thought those guys were really good tonight," Keefe said. "I was really impressed with them."
Hardman saw 8:24 of ice time in the team's 5-1 victory over the New York Rangers. He blocked two shots and was credited with two hits.
The Comets' next game is Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, against the Rochester Americans. With Utica, Hardman has eight points (five goals, three assists) in 10 games.
