The Devils practiced in Newark on Wednesday afternoon to prepare for their game against the Jets.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils held a practice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House in Newark on Wednesday afternoon to prepare for their Thursday night tilt against the Winnipeg Jets. 

The players were on the ice for 30 minutes participating in multiple drills. 

“Every drill had a purpose. We were working on little things. Little things matter in games,” captain Nico Hischier said. “We were working on that. We want, when we’re out there, the time counts. That’s why we want to be crisp and sharp out there.”

  • Interim head coach Travis confirmed Jack Hughes took a maintenance day. Willman filled in for him and skated alongside Haula and Holtz.  
  • John Marino, who missed the last game with an upper-body injury, remains off the ice. Green did not have an update on his defenseman.
