The New Jersey Devils hit the ice Saturday afternoon in Newark to prepare for their upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils returned from their three-game road trip Friday night and went right back to work Saturday afternoon at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House.

At 11:48 A.M., goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen hit the ice. He was followed by forwards Brian Halonen and Curtis Lazar. The latter spent a few minutes shooting pucks on Kahkonen and Jake Allen as his remaining teammates made their way onto the ice.

Jonas Siegenthaler joined the team. Ahead of the official start of practice, Alexander Holtz skated over with a grin on his face, partially embracing the 26-year-old defenseman. It's safe to say his teammates were happy to have him back.

  • Jonas Siegenthaler was a full participant for the first time since suffering a concussion against the New York Rangers.
  • Green shared the following injury updates: Kurtis MacDermid (upper body) did not practice on Saturday, but should practice with the team on Monday. It is unlikely that Dougie Hamilton (torn pectoral muscle) will play this season. There is a chance fans will see Nathan Bastian (lower body) before the season ends.
  • Jack Hughes was not on the ice. He took a maintenance day, which is becoming routine for the 22-year-old.
