The New Jersey Devils made a couple of roster moves on Wednesday afternoon.
Forward Graeme Clarke was recalled from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Utica Comets, and Brian Halonen was reassigned to Utica.
Clarke, 22, made his NHL and Devils debut on Jan. 6 against the Vancouver Canucks. He played over nine minutes and started the game on the team's fourth line with Chris Tierney and Brendan Smith.
In the AHL, he appeared in 64 games for the Comets and has 47 points (24 goals, 23 assists).
Halonen's last game with New Jersey was Apr. 7 against the Nashville Predators. He has appeared in two games this season and averaged eight minutes of ice time. He is set to become a restricted free agent this summer.
The Devils were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on Tuesday night after they suffered a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Interim head coach Travis Green was asked post-game if other players would get a look in these final three games.
"We've been giving some guys some looks. (We) had (Shane) Bowers playing with Nico Hischier tonight. We had Nolan Foote in the lineup," he said. "We've been putting lots of guys into the lineup right now. I don't know how much more we could do as far as giving looks. We have a lot of bodies out of the lineup and a lot of people playing who might not have been in our original lineup from the beginning of the season."
The Devils will travel to Toronto on Wednesday and wrap up their season series with the Maple Leafs on Thursday night.
