New Jersey Devils goaltender Jake Allen is still listed as day-to-day.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Ahead of the New Jersey Devils' Saturday matinee against the Chicago Blackhawks, head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on his goaltender, Jake Allen.

"He skated again today," he said. "He is progressing very well."

The 34-year-old continues to be listed as day-to-day.

The veteran's last game was on Dec. 8 against the Colorado Avalanche. He has not practiced with his team nor backed up his tandem partner, Jacob Markstrom.

On Dec. 10, the club called up youngster Isaac Poulter, who served as the club's backup during the rest of the homestand at Prudential Center.

Allen has started 10 games this season and has a record of 5-4-1 with a .904 save percentage.

The Devils wrapped up their homestand on Saturday afternoon and are off Sunday, so any updates on Allen must wait. The club will go on the road for the next two games against the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets
