    NEWARK, N.J. -- On Thursday afternoon, New Jersey Devils President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and Senior Vice President/Assistant General Manager/Utica General Manager Dan MacKinnon announced the organization signed college free agent Dylan Wendt to a two-year, entry-level contract starting in the 2024-25 season.

    Per the official press release, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward will join the Devils' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Utica Comets, on an AHL Amateur Tryout (ATO) for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.

    The 23-year-old has spent the past three seasons playing at the NCAA level with Western Michigan University. He collected 44 points (23 goals, 21 assists) in 38 games. He was second on his team in both goals and points.

    The center was named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.

    Eliteprospects had him ranked as the seventh-best NCAA free agent.
