During his press conference, Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald provided updates on his injured players.

NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald addressed the media on Tuesday ahead of the team's morning skate. He discussed an array of topics and briefly touched on two injured players: Dougie Hamilton and Vitek Vanecek.
The 6-foot-6 defenseman remains out long-term. When asked if Hamilton will play again this season, Fitzgerald said, "Right now, I don't know."
Hamilton's last game was on Nov. 28 against the New York Islanders. In early December, Devils' chief medical officer, Dr. Jonathan L. Glashow, and team orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas, performed his surgery.
He is in the third season of a seven-year, $63 million contract ($9 million average annual value).
Vanecek is not as close to a return as initially thought. Fitzgerald did not call it a setback but confirmed the 28-year-old is not 100 percent.
The goaltender sustained a lower-body injury on Feb. 10 in the team's 1-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Since then, the organization moved forward with a goaltending tandem of Nico Daws, 23, and Akira Schmid, 23.
The remaining player on injured reserve is Nathan Bastian, who suffered an upper-body injury on Feb. 22. Fitzgerald did not provide any further updates on the depth forward, who is expected to be out for a while.
