Tomas Nosek has only appeared in six games for the New Jersey Devils this season.

NEWARK, N.J. -- On Sunday afternoon, Tomas Nosek joined his New Jersey Devils teammates on the ice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House.

The veteran forward has dealt with multiple injuries this season, which has limited him to six games. The latest was having surgery on his right foot.

"It feels really good. Just to be back on the ice with the boys is good enough for me," Nosek said. "It's been long, almost three months. I'm looking forward to being back. I enjoyed being on the ice today."

At practice, he centered the team's fourth line with Chris Tierney on one side and Alexander Holtz on the other. Max Willman rotated in during drills.

Nosek's return could not come at a better time for New Jersey, which currently needs a player who can provide his services.

"We're getting a guy that's a good penalty killer, a good veteran player," head coach Lindy Ruff said. "I thought he played well in the preseason. We know what he is. He's a good two-way guy that can defend against anybody. He has years of experience that can help our club."

The Devils will hold another practice before Tuesday night when they host the Colorado Avalanche. At this point, it is unclear if Nosek can play against the top team in the Central Division.

"I feel confident. Practice is different than games. We'll see how it goes. I'm excited and ready to play a game again."
