The New Jersey Devils hit the ice to prepare for their game versus the Detroit Red Wings.

After a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night, the New Jersey Devils hit the ice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House on Friday afternoon for an intense practice.

The lone player missing was 26-year-old Nathan Bastian. Head Coach Lindy Ruff later revealed that the winger was taking a maintenance day. Bastian was at the rink.

Quick Notes & Observations:

  • Friday's practice lasted approximately 40 minutes.
  • It was intense, which was expected after Thursday's game. The players did multiple drills, including one-on-one battles behind the goal, and they did not make it easy on each other.
  • After practice, Colin Miller received stick taps from his teammates. Miller became a first-time father yesterday.
  • The Devils face the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow at Prudential Center. The team will hold a 10:30 A.M. morning skate.
