The Florida Panthers dominated Game 2 and evened the series at home while the Vancouver Canucks made a third-period comeback to win Game 1 at home.

The Florida Panthers beat the Boston Bruins 6-1

Jeremy Swayman had his first off game of the playoffs for the Boston Bruins allowing four goals on 23 shots. The Panthers blowing out the Bruins led to some altercations. David Pastrnak and Matthew Tkachuk dropped the gloves in the third period. Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart dominated the game for the Panthers. They each finished with four points. Barkov scored twice and Reinhart finished with four assists. The Bruins were only able to get 15 shots on Sergei Bobrovsky which is nowhere near enough to beat the Panthers in the playoffs.

The Vancouver Canucks scored three times in the third to comeback and beat the Edmonton Oilers 5-4

The Oilers scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead and outshoot the Canucks 10-5. In the second the Canucks finished with more shots but the period concluded with the Oilers up 4-2. In the third, J.T. Miller made it a one-goal game before Nikita Zadorov and Connor Garland scored goals 39 seconds apart to take the lead. The Oilers went 22:43 without a shot on goal between their 4-1 goal in the 2nd and late into the 3rd. The Canucks deserve credit for this and for holding Connor McDavid without a shot for the first time in a playoff game.

The Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting the New York Rangers and are in desperate need of a win. The Dallas Stars will look to bounce back after blowing a 3-0 lead against the Colorado Avalanche.
