The Utica Comets have been eliminated from playoff contention with two games left in their season.

The Comets currently sit in seventh place out of seven teams in the North Division. The top five teams in the division make the playoffs. The Comets are currently 31-28-5-6.

The Comets made the playoffs the last two seasons and were eliminated in the second round each time. This year the Comets were led by Ryan Schmelzer and Graeme Clarke offensively. Schmelzer led the team in points with 51 and Clarke led the team with 24 goals.

Understandably the Comets dropped in play a bit compared to last year. Nolan Foote and Simon Nemec were big parts of their roster last year that they didn't have this time around. Reilly Walsh played a large role on their blue line as well but played with the Providence Bruins this year.

The Comets play their final two games against the Syracuse Crunch and the Rochester Americans.
