New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes received praise for his stick-handling and style in the 2023-24 NHLPA players poll.

Hughes received 8.06% of the votes in the category of who's the best stick handler. Connor McDavid was the runaway favourite winning 35.53% of the votes followed by Patrick Kane with 20.89%. Hughes was third with Nikita Kucherov, Nathan MacKinnon and Artemi Panarin following behind.

This wasn't the only list that Hughes found himself on. He received 2.47% of the votes for the player with the best style. David Pastrnak, William Nylander and Auston Matthews dominated the voting with Hughes tying Kucherov and Kane for fourth place.

Surprisingly, Hughes finished outside the top five in the best playmakers list. Kucherov, McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Panarin and Mitch Marner were the top five.

Nico Hischier also finished outside the top five in "who would you pick if you needed to win a faceoff". Ryan O'Reilly, Sidney Crosby, Claude Giroux, Luke Glendening and Jordan Staal were the top five. Hischier is in the top 15 in both total faceoffs won and faceoff percentage this season.

In last year's edition, the only player to finish top five in a category was Jesper Bratt. He received 2.70% of the votes for the most underrated player in the NHL.
