New Jersey Devils all-star forward Jesper Bratt set a new career in assists after a three-assist night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Back in 2016, the Devils used their 162nd pick in the NHL entry draft to select a 5'10 Swedish winger. No one knew at the time that one day he'd be this successful in the NHL and to this date, Bratt has 125 goals, 223 assists and 348 points in 463 career games.

Heading into last night's game against the Maple Leafs, Bratt had 46 assists, one shy of his career high of 47 that he set in the 2021-22 season. The three assists propelled him to 49 on the year. A pass to Nico Hischier on a 2-on-1 was the assist that set the new career high.

Bratt has also set career highs in different categories as well. His 25 power-play points are three better than his career-high that he set last year. He's also set new career highs in hits, time on ice and shots on goal.

With nine games remaining Bratt also has the opportunity to set new career bests in points and blocked shots. He's currently one back in each category.

All three of Bratt's assists last night were primary helpers. This season he has 30 primary assists, tops on the team and of course, a new career-high.

Even though the Devils haven't been able to replicate the season they had last year and are fighting for their playoff lives every night, Bratt has been excellent and consistent for them all season.
