On Day 3 of the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship, Dawson Mercer and Simon Nemec picked up their first points of the tournament. Nico Hischier recorded a hat trick in a big win.

On Day 3 of the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship, Dawson Mercer and Simon Nemec picked up their first points of the tournament. Nico Hischier recorded a hat trick in a big win.

Nico Daws served as the back-up goaltender to Jordan Binnington and Mercer picked up his first point of the tournament with an empty net goal. Nemec picked up two assists in Slovakia's 6-2 win over Kazakhstan. Nico Hichsier recorded a hat trick in Switzerland's win over Austria.

Slovakia dominated Kazakhstan on both the scoreboard and in shots. Nemec picked up a power play assist on Slovakia's first goal of the game. He unleashed a one-timer that the goaltender couldn't handle and Martin Pospisil scooped up the rebound. He picked up his second assist on Slovakia's fifth goal. 

Canada took care of Denmark beating them 5-1. Mercer finished with two shots on goal and an empty netter to ice the game. Canada has now improved to 2-0-0-0 and will take on Austria in their third game of the tournament on Tuesday.

Hischier was on fire against Austria scoring three goals, an assist and six shots on goal. Jonas Siegenthaler was held off of the scoresheet and Akira Schmid did not see any game action today. Thanks to Hischier's performance, Switzerland now improves to 2-0-0-0. The Devils and Team Switzerland Captain was clutch all game.
