Dawson Mercer answers the question, "Which Teammate is Most Likely?"

A while back, I asked New Jersey Devils forward Chris Tierney to pick a teammate to participate in the third installment of "Which Teammates Are Most Likely."

Without hesitation, he said Nathan Bastian. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was because Bastiano Ronaldo has the perfect personality to participate in this segment.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to sit down with him between scheduling and his injury. Before the team's most recent road trip, I looked around the locker room to see if I could find a fill-in who would humor me.

I saw Dawson Mercer standing at his stall and headed over to him. When I explained the situation, he chuckled and agreed to sit down with me.

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Spend the Most Money on a Shopping Spree?

Mercer: I would say Alex Holtz or Timo Meier. I have witnessed Holtzy do it, and Timo likes clothing and fashion, so I would say the two of them.

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Answer Your Phone Call in the Middle of the Night?

Mercer: Dougie Hamilton. Ever since I've been here, like my first year, he was just always checking in and making sure everything was good. So, I feel like he would be pretty responsive and see it and answer.

Q: Which Teammate Will Most Likely Be Late to the Team Bus?

Mercer: With a laugh, the 22-year-old pleads the fifth.

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Go on an American Ninja Warrior Type Show and Win?

Mercer: Jesper Bratt, I would say. He's quick, lighter weight, strong and agile. Isn't that the one where you do all the obstacles?

Kristy Flannery of THN: Yes.

Mercer: Bratt. Yeah, that's my choice.

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Throw a Birthday Party for Their Dog?

Mercer: I'm going to go with Curtis Lazar. He has two French Bulldogs, right?

Editor's Note: I told Mercer he was correct, and Lazar does own two French Bulldogs. I also shared that I saw a photo on Lazar's Instagram of the pups with cupcakes. After further investigation, the "cupcakes" were actually Puppy Gang Fresh Foods. I was still confident in Mercer's answer until I saw this post on Brendan Smith's Instagram. We might have dropped the ball here.

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Be a Coach Once They Retire?

Mercer: Brendan Smith. Older guy. Vocal presence, so yeah, it is him. 

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Get Themselves Stranded on a Deserted Island?

Mercer: Um, I am just going to pick a young guy, so either Luke Hughes or Simon Nemec because of age. I'll go with Luke. 

Q: Which Teammate Is Most Likely to Cry During a Sad Movie?

Mercer: A sad movie... I'll go with Dougie Hamilton again.

Editor's Note: Unfortunately for Hamilton, he walked in as Mercer was surveying the locker room. 

Mercer (with a laugh): No one's exposed themselves with that, so I'm not really sure, so I'll go with Dougie.
