Islanders Adam Pelech Likely To Return Tuesday After Missing 20 Games

Adam Pelech a Game-Time Decision For Islanders After Missing 20 Games

Stefen Rosner on Islanders Second Line

EAST MEADOW, NY -- New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech has been out of the lineup since Nov. 24, missing the last 20 games with a lower-body injury.

There were some thoughts that Pelech could have returned during their latest road trip after joining the group on the road in Pittsburgh for the first time since the injury.

However, despite practicing and skating, the 29-year-old never took part in line rushes until Tuesday morning ahead of the Islanders matchup with the Vancouver Canucks.

He took line rushes alongside Scott Mayfield, with Islanders head coach Lane Lambert stating that he was a game-time decision.

After morning skate, the Islanders activated Pelech out of long-term injured reserve, and to create a roster spot, they placed goaltender Semyon Varlamov (lower body, day-to-day) on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 2, 2024.

Expect Pelech to skate with Mayfield against the Vancouver Canucks.
