The addition of Ryan Healey bolsters a thin defensive corps as the Hammers solidify their inaugural roster, balancing veteran experience with fresh prospects ahead of puck drop.
On Sunday afternoon, the Hamilton Hammers announced that they had signed right-shot defenseman Ryan Healey to a one-year deal.
With the signing of Healey, whom the Islanders acquired the rights to from the Minnesota Wild on June 27, the Hamilton roster gets another much-needed RHD.
Healey, 22, joins Ethan Bear and Luke Rowe as the only three RHD currently on the roster.
Hamilton let RHD Cole McWard walk in free agency.
