

EAST MEADOW, NY -- New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech will play against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
The 30-year-old left Sunday's game, a 1-0 win over the New Jersey Devils, in the second period afterer being on the receiving end of an illegal check to the head by forward Paul Cotter:
The first-year Devils forward received a five-minute major and was suspended two games by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

New Jersey Devils forward Paul Cotter has received a two-game suspension for his illegal check to the head against New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech:
"It's over with and I want to move on," Pelech said at his locker following Tuesday's morning skate. "I don't want to say anything about it. I was fine.
"I went through all the occlusion protocols. I obviously wasn't cleared to come back into the game, but I went through it all again yesterday, the concussion protocol, and I feel good. We're ready."
Pelech added that Cotter reached out to apologize.
Head coach Patrick Roy wasn't pleased about the hit but said that the league took care of it.
Pelech, who sustained a concussion last season after a hit from Montreal Canadiens' Brendan Gallagher, has missed 21 games this season.
