New York Islanders defenseman prospect Zach Schulz won the WHA-TV Jim Santulli 7th Man Award.

The award is given annually to the University of Wisconsin Badger fans believe gave it their all on and off the ice while best representing the team's spirit and sportsmanship.

The Islanders' 2023 sixth-round pick (No. 177) finished his sophomore season with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 28 games.

While the point totals do not stand out, he took on an elevated role on the Badgers' blue line in the second half of the season alongside top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Logan Hensler.

Schulz is just 19 years old, but his effort, drive, and well-rounded skill set should bode well for his NHL ambitions.

He is expected to return to Wisconsin next season alongside fellow Islanders prospect Quinn Finley.
