    Two New York Islanders prospects will go head-to-head in the OHL Championships. 

    Calum Ritchie, 20, who was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche in the Brock Nelson trade, and the Oshawa Generals will face off against Jesse Nurmi, 20, and the London Knights.

    Ritchie, with a goal and two assists, helped the Oshawa Generals advance to the Finals after an 8-4 on Thursday night to sweep the Barrie Colts. 

    Richie has 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 16 playoff games thus far. 

    During the regular season, the 27th overall pick in 2023 recorded 70 points (15 goals, 55 assists) in 47 games after playing his first seven NHL games with Colorado, where he scored one goal, which came against the Islanders and Ilya Sorokin. 

    On Wednesday, Nurmi scored a goal to help London beat the Kitchener Rangers 4-2 to sweep them and improve to 12-0-0 in the playoffs:

    Nurmi, who was drafted in the fourth round (No. 113) in the 2023 NHL Draft, has recorded seven points (two goals, five assists) in 12 playoff games. 

    In his first season in North America, the Finnish forward collected 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) in 52 games. 

    The date and time for Game 1 between these two will be announced soon. It is expected to be next Wednesday or Thursday.
