After a breakout season alongside Adam Pelech, the veteran blueliner secures a significant raise to remain a fixture on the New York power play and top-four rotation.
BUFFALO, NY -- The New York Islanders have signed pending unrestricted free agent Tony DeAngelo to a two-year deal worth $4.5 million annually per Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman:
His new deal comes with a three-team no-trade clause for both years.
DeAngelo, who was on an expiring one-year deal worth $1.75 million, gets a $2.75 million raise after showing his importance in the lineup this past season, especially when he missed time down the stretch with a lower-body injury.
The 30-year-old recorded 35 points (five goals, 30 assists) in 76 games, averaging 19:08 minutes playing primarily alongside Adam Pelech on the club's second pairing while quarterback in the second power-play unit.
